THE NAKED TRUTH
360 Advertising Campaign | Photography
Through this Real Beauty Campaign, the goal is to redefine beauty standards and diminish stereotypes in a bold way. Thegoal was to re-imagine beauty and target women, with a focus on the Gen Z audience. In this progressive campaign, the goal was to inspire women and promote body positivity to show women that their bodies are beautiful, no matter the shape, size, or ‘flaws.’ In result, the The Naked Truth campaign was born.
I aimed to create something bold and conversation-sparking, celebrating the beauty of all bodies while highlighting what society deems "flaws." Despite challenges finding participants willing to pose nude, I knew it was worth it. To subtly censor the photos and emphasize their beauty, I painted flowers on the women’s breasts, symbolizing how all shapes, colors, and sizes are beautiful without question. I also highlighted their "flaws" with gold glitter, making them sparkle instead of being hidden.
I chose for the campaign and gorilla fashion show to take place during NY Fashion Week because even in today’s society most of the brands still showcase their clothes in models that rarely are representative of what most women look like and promote unhealthy and unrealistic beauty standards, so felt that would make most of an impact. Seeing these type of women showcased often can also bring up feelings of insecurities for a lot of women and felt that during this time would be a good reminder that EVERY body is beautiful.
